Wat Tan Hor Porridge by Eva Wong


Meat and vegetables:
Sliced pork (marinated with salt, pepper, soy sauce, cornflour)
Sliced fish cake (optional)
Chinese cabbage (sliced in small pcs)
Wolfberries

Sauce ingredients:
1 cup water
1 tsp oyster sauce
1 tsp ikan bilis stock (optional)
1-2 tbsp salt, or to taste
1/4 tsp sugar

Thickening:
2 tbsp cornflour combined with 2 tbsp water
1 large egg, beaten

* The amount of stock to use depends on what type you are using and how concentrated it is. I usually taste the broth as I go along and add more liquid stock. The meat and fish will also add to the sweetness of the broth.

Teow Chew Style Prawn Porridge by Chin Pei Ng


Method:
Cook washed leftover rice in soup broth, bring to boil, add in prawn then simmer for 2-3 minutes, add in spring onions, white pepper powder and garlic oil. Stir well, off heat, and serve!

Plain porridge with grated cheese
Steam salmon with ginger, fried garlic, wolfberries, tomato, spring onion and sesame oil
Stir fry spinach with minced garlic

- plain porridge : red quinoa, millet and white grains
- steam salmon with sesame oil, coriander, ginger and tomato
- fried egg with shallot and spinach
-Abc soup

Fish stock : threadfin and salmon bones, ginger, celery and carrot.
Grains: red quinoa, white quinoa, white rice
Vege: cherry tomato, butternut squash
Meat: cod fish
Add cheese

Porridge by Su Lin


Method:
(1) Soak half bowl of rice in water and 6 red dates with gei zhi (wolfberries) in water overnight.
(2) The next day, boil 6 bowls of water in a pot. Dump in ikan bilis and the red dates & boil for 10 minutes.
(3) Filter out the ikan bilis and red dates while squeezing out the juice using a strainer.
(4) Put all the rice, gei zhi, chopped onions, chopped potatoes, carrots and tomatoes/pumpkin into it and bring to boil then slow fire. Remember to stir often so that it won't get burnt.
(5) Lastly add in vegetables which are chopped finely.
No need to add salt or any sauce.

Porridge Ideas by Yap Lai Fan

5 grain rice+ pumpkin+ medium size tomato+ lettuce+EVCO (extra virgin coconut oil) +meat


5 grain rice # eggplant -skin removed # 1 PC medium potato # broccoli # 1/2 tsp EVCO

*old cucumber soup as soup base
*own mix five grain rice
*carrot
*siew pak choy
*dried scallop
*white potato

*millet, quinoa, buckwheat, oat groat & brown rice
*green zucchini with skin
*goji berry
*eggplant without skin
*chicken fillet
*pumpkin

*lean pork
*carrot
*white potato
*siew pak choy
*1/2 tsp of EVCO

*salmon
*quinoa, millet, buckwheat, brown rice and oat groat
*green zucchini
*pak choy
*goji berries

Tips: Add fish only towards the end when the rest of the ingredients are cooked.

*onion
*yun choy
*lean pork
*1/2 tsp VCO

Use fish bone to boil for at least 3 hours with ginger, use the fish stock as soup base, then add wolfberries, carrot and broccoli

#oysters #scallops #zucchini #spinach #carrots #white cabbage #5 grains

Steam red snapper with ginger & a dash of black sesame oil. Vege: carrots, celery & garlic.

Chicken Porridge with Zucchini by Yap Lai Fan


Method:
Soak the 5 grain rice overnight. Add in hot water into the slow cooker, put the rice, chicken fillet and yellow zucchini to cook together for 3 hrs. Then add in broccoli and pumpkin cook for another 20 mins. Finally, add 1/2 tsp VCO and stir well.

Steam Porridge by Wendy Wong

Time: 1 hr
Ingredients: 
White rice, Brown Rice, Tomatoes (de-skinned & chopped finely), Red Potatoes (de-skinned) Chicken meat (small slices-for taste), Fish Mah Yau (small slices)

Method: 
Rinse the rice & wash and put all the ingredients in corning ware & cover. Add water & leave it to steam for 1 hour.

Quinoa, millet, white grain, zucchini and carrot cooked in chicken and corn broth. Added steamed cod fish and cod liver oil.
