Oor Eee ( MIL's recipe )
1 medium yam - remove the skin, grate
1/2kg tapioca flour
salt and sugar as per taste
Mix all together to form a dough with 1/2 cup of boiling water. Adjust by adding flour / hot water accordingly. Shape it and place it on banana leave then steam for about 30 mins.
Stir fry Oor Eee ( my version )
Heat the pan with sesame oil + olive oil. Stir fry garlic till fragrant, add in dried shrimp (soaked in water and drained), minced pork (seasoned with light soya sauce, sesame oil, 5 spice powder), add in sliced Oor Eee, black soya sauce, white pepper, tiny bit of salt/sugar for taste as per your preference. Add some water/stock and hsiaohsing wine. Stir fry until all even & oor ee turn soft. Add in chilli and spring onion.
